Lots of things to do in the area...

Walks in the countryside on the reclaimed land of former Rødby Fjord with canals and pumping stations in the landscape. Prior to draining the fjord, boats could sail into the town of Rødby, now 5 km in land. Your host has folders with suggestions for walks, i.a. about the sugar beet trail, which runs along parts of the former tracks used for transporting the sugar beet. The Polish Workers Home in Tågerup. Here you can get insight into the lives of the young Polish women hired as seasonal workers in the sugar beet fields. - In Nakskov town you can visit the sugar museum showing sugar production historically and up to the present day. The nature reserve Hyllekrog-Saksfjed located at the Eastern end of the dike is one of Denmark’s most important for migratory birds of pray and resting wading birds, geese and ducks. Several walks are organized throughout the year, except 1 April – 15 July when the Hyllekrog area is closed off for visitors during breeding time. The Saksfjed area is open all year round. The island of Fehmarn in Germany. Take the ferry to Puttgarden - 45 min. crossing www.scandlines.com It is advised to bring your bicycle as the attractions and sites on Fehmarn are linked by good cycling paths,
